How are your yarns dyed?
All orange tail yarns are dyed in very small batches. high quality acid dyes are used to colour the yarn and vinegar and heat are used to set the dyes.
The majority of orange tail yarns are kettle dyed but occasionally yarns may be hand painted for a limited edition colourway.
Do your yarns vary in colour between batches?
orange tail yarns strive to make each individial colourway as similar as possible between batches but because the yarns are hand crafted no two skeins will be the same. If your project requires more than one skein in a particular colourway, orange tail yarns suggest alternating skeins every two rows to ensuere an even flow of colour.
Why dont you sell your yarns in balls ready for action?
It puts alot less stress on the yarn and the fibres themselves when packaged in a skein. When wound into a ball the fibres are pulled tight and can leave the yarn flat. orange tail yarns recommend leaving your yarn in its skein until it is time to start your project and then wind it into a ball. Loosening off a wrapped skein before putting it in your stash helps maintain the yarn's sqishyness too.
How do you process my order?
orange tail yarns process all orders using PAYPAL.
